Best Trader Joe’s Wines

It’s time to ditch the Charles Shaw. Here’s a list of some potential new favorites (if you’re 21, of course)!

  1. Blue Fin Chardonnay & Pinot Noir, $3.99
Chardonnay is a pale straw gold color with aromas of lime, melon and some faint oak. It tastes of pears, warm oak and a touch of cinnamon and is finished with a mellow oakey pear taste.
  2. Secco Mango Mangocini, $4.99
It comes to us from Germany, where they begin with Trebbiano grapes. The supplier makes a slightly effervescent wine from those grapes and adds mango juice and mango flavor to create a fizzy, fruity beverage that’s ideal for the hot days and nights of August and early September.
  3. Green Fin Grenache Rosé, $4.99
This selection has a Bright medium reddish amber color and features Lively, fruity, earthy aromas of cherry-berry, dried wild strawberries, dusty oak and lemon zest with a crisp, dry full body and a warming, complex, breezy finish with fruit tannins and no oak.

  4. Rebuttel Chardonnay, $7
tastes like caramel apples and fresh air — basically an apple picking day trip in a bottle.
  5. Albada Viñas Viejas Garnacha, $6.99
This choice features Raisiny, saucy aromas that are slightly volatile. A wide, saturated palate comes up short on focus and acidity, while a mix of raisin and green-herb flavors lands on a heavy finish.
  6. Incanto Prosecco, $12
This Prosecco is the perfect choice for anyone who doesn’t want a sweet wine but likes bubbles.
  7. 19 Crimes Red Blend, $7
if sweeter red wines aren’t your thing, this one probably isn’t your wine. Still, it’s hard not to be impressed by the fantastic marketing, as each label harbors a photo of an actual convicted criminal and each cork is labeled with one of the 19 crimes that could get you sent to prison in Australia.
  8. 2010 Casone Toscana, $10.99 (13%alc)
This one begins with a pleasant aroma of black cherry, strawberry, spice, some balsamic notes and a little mint.
  9. 2014 Pine Ridge Chenin Blanc Viognier, $9.99 (12.5%)
This selection has pleasant aromas of grapefruit, melon, and pear, along with honeysuckle and other floral notes.

What Your Favorite American Beverage Says About You

Fourth of JulyWith the Fourth of July just around the corner, it’s time to feel a little red, white and buzzed. At 4E, we pride ourselves on fulfilling the American dream and therefore, have done our own research on the best American beverages out there. The Fourth Edition is feeling a little star, spangled bannered hammered and luckily, we know exactly what you should be drinking this Independence Day (if you’re 21+, of course). Here are just a few of your favorite American libations and what they say about you.

Tito’s Vodka: You like to live life in the fast lane. You’re willing to spend a little extra guap to enjoy the finer things in life, because why the hell not? Your friend Tito is always at your side whether it’s with a splash of tonic and lime (ohhh you fancy) or just straight up. You’re that cool guy/gal at the party who people respect.

On a 1 to Star, Spangled, Hammered scale, you’re at about an 8.

Natty Light: You just like to #party wherever and whenever. You enjoy the simple things and as long as you’re with your bros watching ESPN, you couldn’t be happier.  Your favorite color is Nantucket red and you would be more upset if your Fantasy Football team lost than if you failed your last finance exam.

On a 1 to Star, Spangled, Hammered scale, you’re at about a 6.

Jack Daniels: You’re just f****** wild. You’re def the life of the party and do not live in ragrets, even though you probably should. You can make friends anywhere and the bartender at your favorite watering hole knows your name. You may not be the classiest, but you’re a nice guy/gal and always ready to show your patriotism.

On a 1 to Star, Spangled, Hammered scale, you’re at a solid 10.

California White: In your natural state, you are on the quieter side, but once you get a little Jesus juice (wine) in you, you’re a lot (like a lot) louder. You enjoy hanging out in more intimate settings and have an tendency to eat a whole wheel of Brie when drunk. Your average rate of likes per photo on Instagram is over 100 and you talk in hashtags. You’re patriotic, but you’ve seen the world and know what’s out there (because you went abroad, obviously).

On a 1 to Star, Spangled, Hammered scale, you’re at a 4.

Fireball: You don’t drink a lot, but when you do, it’s always a crazy time. You have a sweet tooth and thus, Fireball is your go-to. You can be a recluse during the week, hiding in the shadows of Lau. But when your friends finally get you out to Tombs, you tear up that dance floor (whether that is a good or bad thing). You’re studious, but also social. **Disclaimer: apparently, Fireball is Canadian, but that’s irrelevant**

On a 1 to Star, Spangled, Hammered scale, you’re at a 7.

We hope that all of you show your patriotism and love for ‘Murica this Fourth of July. Drink responsibly!

Red Velvet Oreos: Now in Stores!

REDVELVET

It is here, it is finally happening! Brace Yourself!! Red Velvet Oreos are Coming!!!!

Nabisco heard our pleas and combined our favorite cookie with our favorite flavor. The wait is finally over and red velvet Oreos are now available for a limited time (since Feb. 2).

For those of you alone on Valentine’s Day, Nabisco has thoughtfully just supplied you with a date that will never fail to disappoint you. No longer will you have to dread the unavoidable V-day. You can now look forward to your day spent in bed with a box of these heavenly cookies right by your side! Plus, this comforting companion only costs $4.49! Just think about how much you are saving compared to those with significant others.

Red Velvet Oreo Cookie Review - Oreo Oration
Red Velvet Oreo Cookie Review – Oreo Oration

The cream cheese filling, stuffed between two crisp red velvet cookies, makes for a delectable treat for any time of day. Dip it in the milk of your choice and you are good to go! If you want to really enjoy your Oreo experience this Valentine’s Day, I wholeheartedly recommend watching “How to eat Oreos!?!?!?!” to enhance your Oreo-eating techniques.

And as if this red-velvet Oreo news wasn’t enough, word on the street is that Nabisco has another cookie coming down the pipeline: S’MORES OREOS. While Nabisco has yet to confirm this rumor, an image of S’mores Oreo packaging is currently circulating Twitter. The Impulsive Buy claims that they should be available in either April or May.

I'm so excited and I just can't hide it!

But, until then, cancel all those imaginary plans for the 14th because your date has finally arrived at a store near you.
